The Reaper was created to stand at the corner of my cubical at work where holding a tombstone sign warning people to beware of falling trick-or-treaters. The Reaper with his ominous warning was put in place on October 27, 2002. Over the following days leading to Halloween many people came by and read the sign, a few even looked up to no avail and saw nothing. With everyone convinced that nothing was in the ceiling, on October 29 myself and a friend returned to the office in the middle of the night and installed Falling Fred. For the next two days no one discovered Falling Fred, including a maintenance guy who had to replace bulbs in a ceiling fixture no more then eight feet from Fred. Early on the morning of the 31st I brought in a compressor, filled the tank and attached Fred. Throughout the day as people passed by or stopped to read the Reapers sign the ceiling would spring open as Fred came flying down. Usually resulting in people jumping back and screaming.
